“Art is not just about what’s great or expensive or scandalous or famous. It’s a mirror we hold up that looks different to everyone who sees it, and whose beauty lies as much in us, and our capacity to dream . . . “

—Michael Kimmelman

“Writing, I think, is not apart from living. Writing is a kind of double living. The writer experiences everything twice. Once in reality and once in that mirror which waits always before or behind.”

—Catherine Drinker Bowen

As both artist and a writer, the reflections of mirrors and the act of mirroring attract me. Reflections, especially, as refractions of light, image and whereabouts fascinate me. Today’s reflections are crystal-clear mirror images, be they in water or in windows.

Come back again tomorrow, for a gallery of distortions, all caused by reflections, and compare the experience of hazy reflections with clear ones.

Contact me to purchase custom made prints of my mirror images, from $45.

Are your reflections always crystal-clear?

  1. Loved the entire gallery, Jann.
I loved the water ripples which had a soft touch differentiating the real from the mirror images. The reflections on the skyscrapers are also so clear. But the blocks are breaking the reflecting images into many parts.
