Walking through the Maine woods on a rainy day . . .
I encountered a fallen tree and looked inside . . .
And saw that where nature’s concerned, new life will overtake what’s died . . .
And that looking closely at what’s not so obvious always rewards the observer
. . . Especially the observer whose iPhone is handy.
Shot with my iPhone 5s on a rain-soaked day along the Curtis Farm Trail in Harpswell, Maine; and joining in the nature challenge fun on Sally’s Lens and Pens blog, with a piggyback to the Daily Post’s close up challenge. For more iPhoneography tips and tricks, click HERE. ♣

Jann, I too am fascinated by dead and splintered wood. Your photos show why a closer study of such trees is so rewarding!

Thanks. Makes it work getting soaked, shooting in the rain! Harsh shadows are nonexistent, colors are so saturated, details so fine.
